Emergency State Declared in Romania Due to Contaminated Oil Imports from Azerbaijan
Romania has declared a state of emergency in the energy sector due to the supply of contaminated oil from Azerbaijan, as reported by the Romanian Ministry of Energy.
The ministry was informed about the issues related to Azerbaijani oil by Romania's largest oil company, OMV Petrom. The Romanian company revealed that between July 16-18, it received a tanker loaded with 92,000 tons of oil from Azerbaijan. During the unloading process, it was discovered that the oil was contaminated with organic chlorides.
Additionally, OMV Petrom has decided to refuse the next shipment of Azerbaijani oil.
