+40 Degree Heat: High Thermal Background Expected in Yerevan
Due to the influx of tropical warm air from the south, a high thermal background is expected in the Ararat Plain, the Syunik valley region, and Yerevan from July 21 to 24, with temperatures reaching +38 to +40 degrees Celsius during the peak hours of 16:00 to 17:00.
In these areas, as well as in the foothills of Aragatsotn, Kotayk, and Vayots Dzor, a high fire hazard situation is also expected in the coming 5 days. This information comes from the Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.
In Yerevan, on the evenings of July 19-20, brief rain and thunderstorms may occur in certain parts of the city. From July 21 to 24, dry weather is anticipated. During the evenings and thunderstorms, an increase in wind speed of 15-18 m/s is expected.
Throughout the republic, on July 19 and 20 in the afternoon, during the night of the 21st, and in the afternoon on the 21st, isolated regions are expected to see brief rain and thunderstorms, with possible heavy rain and hail in certain areas on July 19-20. From July 22-24, dry weather is predicted. The wind will be from the west at 2-5 m/s, with an expected increase in speed to 17-20 m/s during thunderstorms.
From July 19-24 in the evenings, an increase in wind strength of 15-18 m/s is expected in Armavir, the foothills of Kotayk, and Aragatsotn. The air temperature will gradually rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius from July 20-22.
