The Fake Narrative That Russia Sent Samvel Karapetyan: Narek Karapetyan

The first fake narrative used against the new political force we are forming will be that Russia sent Samvel Karapetyan to spread Russian influence here. This was stated by Narek Karapetyan, Vice President of the Tashir Group of Companies.

“The second fake is the connection with the former officials. All leaders of the country have expressed a desire to work with prominent representatives of the Armenian diaspora and major investors. Samvel Karapetyan has also been invited to make new investments. Relationships have been established based on work and mutual respect between the leader of the homeland and a businessman investing in the homeland. These relationships are respectful, yet the paths taken differ. In my opinion, the political strategy that has been effective from the 2000s to today cannot be effective in 2030. All our authorities have faced one issue: they have politicized state governance,” he noted.

“Regarding the third fake, I would prefer to say it is more of a manipulation than a fake: our country's leader announced in Switzerland that there should be no institution supporting the diaspora for Armenia. Similarly, he says that there should be no institution for Armenia that supports the diaspora. The diaspora sends $5 billion to Armenia every year. This amounts to 20-25% of our GDP,” Karapetyan added.
