Tense Situation: Police Detain Citizens
Since early morning, residents of the village of Kasakh in the Kotayk region are again attempting to block the Yerevan-Ashtarak highway. They demand that the 59 route buses return to their former stopping point in the village center, as people are currently forced to walk several kilometers from the highway to reach the village's central area.
The new transport option, which is considerably smaller and accommodates fewer passengers, not only lacks sufficient seating but also requires residents to pay more. Police forces have formed a barrier and are preventing residents from carrying out their protest and blocking the highway. Some participants in the protest have been detained by the police.
