The Ministry of Internal Affairs Launches Projects with a Budget of 7 Million Euros
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, met with the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Marta Kos. Kos praised the established bilateral close relations, emphasizing Armenia's reliability as a partner. She expressed gratitude to Minister Sargsyan for her contribution to the effective cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In this context, the discussion focused on issues related to expanding cooperation. Kos expressed interest in the ongoing reforms within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, offering readiness to provide support.
Minister Sargsyan thanked her for the warm welcome and elaborated on the comprehensive and systematic reforms taking place within the Ministry and its subordinate units, as well as their ultimate outcomes. Commissioner Kos positively assessed the implementation process of readmission agreements.
They also discussed the ongoing efforts in disaster risk reduction, including issues related to the modernization of the Rescue Service. The recent new strategy adopted by Armenia in crisis management was also addressed. Both sides exchanged views on the current status of short-term and medium-term projects under negotiation, with a total budget of approximately 7 million euros.
