Arzni Mayor and 8 Others Arrested: Details
A scuffle occurred among participants in a dispute that escalated into violence, with gunshots fired, resulting in one individual sustaining bodily injuries. This was reported to Aurora News by Kim Avdalyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee.
In connection with the incident, the Kotayk regional investigative department of the Republic of Armenia's Investigative Committee initiated criminal proceedings on June 8, 2025, based on the features of Articles 44-155 (Part 1), 297 (Part 2, Clause 1), 297 (Part 3), and 335 (Part 1) of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Eight individuals have been arrested, including the mayor of Arzni.
During the preliminary investigation, forensic genetic and forensic medical examinations have been appointed. The investigation is ongoing.
