US Military Presents Trump With Military Options for Iran's Nuclear Program
The U.S. military has provided President Donald Trump with a range of military options to address the issue surrounding Iran's nuclear program. This was announced by General Michael Kurilla, the head of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
During hearings in the House Armed Services Committee, he was asked whether CENTCOM, at the president's direction, was prepared to 'strike Iran with overwhelming force' to prevent the country from acquiring nuclear weapons.
'I have provided a range of options to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and the President,' the commander replied, whose area of operational responsibility includes, among others, the Middle East and North Africa.
Earlier, the Axios portal, citing its sources, claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was more interested in 'implementing a military option' to resolve the crisis surrounding Iran's nuclear program. According to the portal, Netanyahu assured Trump that the Jewish state would not undertake any military action against Iran as long as Tehran and Washington were negotiating.
The U.S. President has also stated that he does not wish to attack Iran, hoping to resolve the disagreements around Tehran's nuclear program through diplomatic means.
