Over 100 People Killed in One Day as Israel Resumes Shelling
In the past 24 hours, over 100 people have lost their lives due to Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip, with nearly 400 others wounded, according to the enclave's health ministry.
"During the last 24 hours, 108 people have died, and 393 injured have been admitted to hospitals," the statement reported.
According to ministry data, since March 18, when Israel resumed its shelling, more than 4,600 people have died in Gaza, and over 14,000 have been affected.
"Since October 7, 2023, the number of casualties from Israeli aggression has reached 54,880, with 126,227 injured," the statement noted.
It should be added that on March 18, the Israel Defense Forces resumed strikes towards the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the assaults continue due to the Palestinian Hamas movement's refusal to extend the ceasefire and the American plan for the release of hostages.
The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas officially ended on March 1, but due to mediators' attempts to involve both parties in continued negotiations over the Gaza resolution, military operations had not yet resumed.
