Iran Will Not Ask for Permission: This is Our 'Red Line', Says Iranian Foreign Ministry
Iran will not seek permission to continue enriching uranium. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in response to the US demand for Iran to abandon its peaceful nuclear program as part of a future deal, according to RIA Novosti.
“There is a lot of ambiguity in this proposal. We will respond appropriately in the coming days. Uranium enrichment in our territory is a 'red line.' This is a reality that, I believe, all countries have come to realize,” said Araghchi.
It is worth noting that US President Donald Trump had declared the day before that any potential deal regarding the nuclear program excludes any enrichment of uranium in Iran. According to the media, citing one of the Iranian diplomats, it has been reported that Iran is prepared to reject this deal as it deprives Tehran of its right to a peaceful nuclear program.
