Ukrainian Defense Minister Issues Statement Following Negotiations
Russia and Ukraine have agreed in the second round of negotiations held today in Istanbul to exchange all severely ill prisoners of war and individuals under the age of 25. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian delegation and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov during a press briefing with journalists.
Ukraine and Russia also agreed to exchange the bodies of fallen soldiers on the principle of "6000 for 6000." According to Umerov, the Ukrainian delegation has proposed another meeting to be held before the end of June.
The official also stated that Russia has not agreed to an unconditional ceasefire or a meeting of the heads of state. It is noteworthy that today’s negotiations took place at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul and lasted for over an hour. The previous meeting occurred on May 16.
