Israel Agrees to Ceasefire, While Hamas Refuses: Statement
Israel has announced that the Palestinian Hamas movement has rejected the U.S. proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli side agrees to the plan. This statement was issued by the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"Israel has accepted the revised plan of U.S. special envoy Stephen Whitcough, aimed at the release of our hostages, but Hamas remains staunchly committed to its position of refusal. As noted by Stephen Whitcough, U.S. special envoy to the Middle East, Hamas's response is unacceptable and delays the process," the office's statement read. It further indicated that Israel would continue all efforts to secure the return of its hostages and achieve a complete victory over Hamas.
