Armenia has been dependent on that country: Ruben Rubinyan
For more than three decades, Armenia has been security-dependent on a single source—Russia and the security organizations associated with that country, said Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, during a panel discussion at the 'Yerevan Dialogue' conference.
However, he noted that recent events have made it clear that relying solely on one source for security simply does not work.
“When the time comes, and the security organizations and the countries that are supposed to engage do not do so or do not want to, we can debate this, but the fact is that it is not happening,” stated Rubinyan.
According to the Deputy Speaker, Armenia has now adopted a balanced and balancing policy, which means that Armenia seeks deeper cooperation with the European Union, and closer cooperation with the USA, France, and India.
