Sheet Metal Torn by Wind Falls on Pregnant Woman, Child Born with Injuries
On May 11, at 5:10 PM, a 23-year-old woman who was 36 weeks pregnant was transferred to the "Erebuni" maternity hospital with penetrating abdominal injuries, severe pain, and bleeding. This was reported by the Erebuni Medical Center.
According to preliminary information, on Sunday evening, during strong winds, a piece of sheet metal was torn from the roof and hit the pregnant woman who was outside at the time, injuring her abdomen. Relatives immediately took her to the maternity hospital. After examining the pregnant woman, surgery began just 7 minutes after entering the medical facility. A cesarean section was performed, and the ruptured uterus was restored. A girl weighing 2450 grams and measuring 48 cm was born with a deep 5 cm long injury on the left forehead. In order to treat the wound, the newborn was immediately transferred to the "Holy Mother of God" medical center. Doctors evaluate the condition of both mother and child as satisfactory. Specialists are confident that the pregnancy saved the woman's life, as the child was not yet born at that time.
