War with That Country Would Be Horrific, Rubio Says
The U.S. administration wishes to prevent a potential armed conflict with China. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with The Free Press.
“We want to prevent a war with China by being strong enough so that they understand they can never win a war against the U.S.,” the Secretary of State said. “A war with China would be a horrific thing,” Rubio added.
Earlier, Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that China is demonstrating global military ambitions toward the West. He emphasized that the U.S. is not seeking war with China but finds it necessary to counter the threats posed by the country to the Western hemisphere. In particular, Hegseth recalled remarks made by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who stated that the Panama Canal should not be controlled by China.
