Russia Threatens Japan
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lodged a protest against the Japanese Ambassador to Moscow, Akira Muto, regarding Tokyo's plans to use funds derived from Russia's 'frozen' state assets to provide assistance to Ukraine. This was reported by the ministry's press service.
The financial support for Kyiv is expected to be part of the G7 package.
"Official Tokyo's aforementioned actions are, in fact, complicity in the crimes of the Kyiv regime and will inevitably lead to harsh countermeasures, including asymmetric responses," the statement said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also placed the full responsibility for the further degradation of bilateral relations on the Japanese government.
