Corruption manifestations are unacceptable to us. This was stated by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan. He referred to the recent arrests in the Shengavit administrative district.

“At this level, how many such actions should there be for us to understand the rules of the game?” he said.

Shengavit district head Razmik Mkrtchyan also thanked the staff of the NSS and the Anti-Corruption Committee. He noted that the incident did not occur in the administrative district, nor in his presence.

“One of our employees is currently under house arrest, the investigation is ongoing, and I cannot say anything else. I can state our position that embezzling even a single dram from the community budget is, to put it mildly, a crime,” he said.
