US Did Not Support Israel's Intentions: NYT
Last May, the United States did not allow Israel to target Iranian nuclear facilities. This was reported by The New York Times (NYT), citing White House sources.
According to sources from the publication, the Israeli leadership was convinced that Washington would actively participate in preparations for the strike and would protect Israel from any potential retaliation by the Islamic Republic. The attack was expected to disrupt Iran's ability to develop nuclear weapons for at least a year.
However, President Donald Trump decided to resolve disagreements with Tehran diplomatically and informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he would not support military action against Iran.
