Heated Language Dispute in the National Assembly
During a speech by Kristine Vardanyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, a verbal altercation erupted between Ruben Rubenyan, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, and Arthur Khachatryan, also from the "Armenia" faction. Vardanyan addressed the ruling party members from the podium, stating, "You say that 2024 was the most peaceful year. If Syunik is also hot, 2025 will be completely peaceful."
Meanwhile, Arthur Khachatryan shouted something from his seat, prompting a response from Ruben Rubenyan: "Then listen to me, Mr. Khachatryan, first be silent, then speak to me respectfully, and don’t go beyond your limits." Khachatryan declared that he defines his own limits.
"Well, you’re not defining them well, so I will define them now, and relax, I said relax, relax," Rubenyan shouted back, encouraging Kristine Vardanyan to continue her speech.
During her speech, Vardanyan referred to the ruling party members, confusing two deputies, saying: "I don’t remember whether it was Maria Karapetyan or Sona Ghazaryan; there’s not much difference." Rubenyan called for respectful discourse about the deputies: "You also be quiet from your seat, Mr. Minasyan," he stated, addressing Artsvik Minasyan, the secretary of the "Armenia" faction, who was shouting something from his seat.
