17 Houses and 1 School: Aftermath of the Earthquake in Tajikistan
In Tajikistan, an earthquake that struck this morning has partially destroyed 17 residential buildings located near the epicenter of the tremors. This information was reported by the crisis management center of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CESCD) under the Government of the Republic.
According to preliminary data, in eastern Tajikistan, at the earthquake's epicenter, 17 residential buildings and one school have suffered partial destruction.
It is noteworthy that, according to the local emergency situation committee, the epicenter of the underground shockwaves was located 160 km northeast of Dushanbe, in the Rasht district. Seismologists reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5 in that area and 4 in Dushanbe. A commission from the Committee for Emergency Situations has been dispatched to evaluate the damage in the affected area.
