Criminal Proceedings Initiated Regarding Vardan Ghukasian's Recording
Criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the recording attributed to Vardan Ghukasian, the mayoral candidate for the local elections in Gyumri. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia in a conversation with 1Lurer.am.
The proceedings were initiated under the second part of Article 236 of the Criminal Code (Obstructing or coercing a gathering or participation in a gathering, as well as materially incentivizing participation in or refusal to participate in a gathering).
Earlier, a recording surfaced on the internet featuring a conversation allegedly involving Ghukasian, in which he threatens and demands the summons of several individuals, stating that they would face problems.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also commented on the recording, noting that the statements made within should be addressed by law enforcement.
