Simonyan: CSTO Must Reassess Its Existence
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, addressed the relationship between Armenia and the CSTO during a conversation with reporters. "The CSTO must reassess itself and understand whether it exists or not. If it does exist, then where are its boundaries, what should it do, what has it not done, and what has been documented," he stated.
It is noteworthy that during a panel discussion titled "Together for Peace and Democracy," Alen Simonyan mentioned that when Armenia was attacked, there was no response from the CSTO, while democratic countries reacted. "We need to consider democracy from a security perspective. At this moment, security is a major challenge for Armenia. We expected a response from security structures, for instance, the CSTO, but we heard nothing," he added.
