We Cannot Sit and Wait for a Deal, Says Starmer
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, has called on European nations to develop a proactive plan to ensure security and deter Russia in the event of a peace agreement between Moscow and Kyiv.
“We cannot sit and wait for a deal, and when it happens, let’s negotiate and scratch our heads,” he stated in an interview with The New York Times.
According to Starmer, the lack of reliable security guarantees would leave Kyiv vulnerable, and Europe must take a leading role in providing those guarantees.
He also praised the peace initiatives put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump.
