Iran Responds to Trump: Total Accountability Will Be Assumed
The permanent representative of Iran to the UN, Saeed Iravani, has refuted the accusations made by the US President regarding Iran's support for forces in Yemen, warning Washington that it will bear full responsibility for any aggressive actions against Tehran.
In a letter addressed to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the president of the UN Security Council, Christina Markus Lassen, the Iranian representative reminded the US that Iran will decisively defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests against any hostile acts in accordance with international law.
“I want to express my deep concern and unequivocal condemnation of the bellicose statements made by senior officials of the US administration, including the president, who has made baseless accusations against Iran and issued blatant threats of the use of force against Iran. Such provocative rhetoric represents a gross violation of the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter,” stated the Iranian permanent representative.
