Ukraine Must Be Prepared to Make Difficult Decisions, Rubio
The U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that the conflict in Ukraine has no "military solution." Rubio made these remarks ahead of meetings with Ukraine in Saudi Arabia.
The Ukrainian delegation, led by presidential chief of staff Andriy Yermak, will meet with Rubio and other senior officials from the White House in the city of Jeddah.
Meanwhile, President Zelensky has declared that Ukraine will adopt a "fully constructive" position during negotiations and expressed hope that they will lead to practical outcomes aimed at halting the Russian war in his country.
In a press briefing with reporters, Rubio expressed, "The most important thing is that we leave here with a clear conviction that Ukraine is prepared to make difficult decisions, just as Russia must make difficult decisions to end this conflict or at least suspend it in some form. I believe both sides must understand that this situation has no military solution. The Russians cannot capture all of Ukraine, and it is evident that it will be exceedingly difficult for Ukraine to compel the Russians to return entirely to the 2014 borders within reasonable timelines."
