Russia Cannot Remain Indifferent on This Matter, Peskov
Russia will not stand by and will support Abkhazia in case of emergency situations related to energy issues. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov.
“I want to remind once again that yesterday the president had a very, very detailed and positive conversation with the elected president of Abkhazia, which was very substantive, addressing numerous issues on the agenda, particularly the need for operational assistance from Russia to urgently organize the continuation of energy resources,” Peskov noted.
The severe situation is linked to climatic conditions, which have resulted in the republic's supplying hydropower plants not receiving sufficient water for production. “Of course, in this emergency situation, Russia cannot remain indifferent, and the supplies of energy carriers will continue,” he added.
