Putin Would Be Happy to Host Trump in Moscow on May 9, Says Peskov
Russian President Vladimir Putin would be pleased to host leaders of major countries, including U.S. President Donald Trump, in Moscow for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, should they wish to attend. This was announced by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President.
"This is a day that symbolizes victory over fascism. And this theme, unfortunately, is more relevant now than ever. Therefore, if there are countries, especially major ones, that decide to share with us the joy of that victory and the significance of this day, of course, we, and particularly President Putin, would be happy to host them in Moscow," said the Kremlin representative.
When asked whether the head of state would be happy to host the American leader on that day, he replied, "Of course."
Dmitry Peskov had previously stated that President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin have tasked their aides to begin immediate preparations for a high-level meeting.
