The 'Strong Armenia' Party Issues a Statement
On September 2, 1991, the people of Artsakh exercised their right to self-determination based on existing legal frameworks, including international law. This process of exercising that right has been repeatedly documented and assessed by international organizations and observers.
The 'Strong Armenia' party has issued a statement: 'Due to the complete ethnic cleansing of Artsakh and the ensuing forced displacement of Armenians from the region, they continue to face numerous social and economic issues today. This indicates serious problems regarding the effectiveness of state policies and social programs in Armenia. At the same time, the hate speech encouraged and expressed by the authorities is yet another manifestation of division and polarization within society.
'Our commitment must be clear: to ensure a safe, prosperous, and dignified life for our compatriots in the Republic of Armenia. Moreover, long-lasting, sustainable, and genuine peace cannot be built while disregarding the fundamental rights of the Armenian people of Artsakh, including their safe and collective return, property, cultural and spiritual heritage, and other essential rights.
'Today, the military-political leadership of Artsakh continues to remain as hostages in the prisons of Baku. The return of all Armenian prisoners of war and unlawfully detained individuals must be one of the primary external political agendas of the Armenian authorities. Unfortunately, we are currently witnessing the opposite scenario.
'Glory and honor to all the martyrs who sacrificed for our homeland. God protect our people and the Armenian world.'
