Canada to Assume New Commitments
Canada and the United States have agreed to suspend American tariffs on Canadian goods for 30 days. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced this following a conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.
It was noted that Ottawa is assuming new commitments to protect the border and combat the illegal drug trade. Additionally, a joint Canada-U.S. task force will be established to tackle organized crime and money laundering.
Earlier, U.S. tariffs on Mexican goods were also suspended for a month.
