Mass Protests Against Trump's Immigration Policy
Mass protests against the mass deportation of illegal immigrants have taken place in several cities across the United States. Thousands participated in the largest protest held in Los Angeles, as reported by local KTLA television.
“Thousands of protesters, opposing President Donald Trump’s policy on mass deportation and immigration, closed streets and the 101 freeway in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday. At the same time, smaller protests occurred in several cities in Southern California,” the report stated.
The protesters expressed support for illegal immigrants who could face deportation due to the country’s new immigration policy. Some activists waved Mexican flags.
According to Newsweek, protests have also been held in Arkansas, Missouri, and Georgia, with the “most intense” demonstrations occurring in Texas and other cities in California.
It is important to note that Donald Trump and former President Joe Biden had previously visited the southern border of the country. Trump accused Biden of causing a wave of crime among migrants, while the sitting president called for cooperation.
