Trump Administration Demands Resignation from FBI Leaders
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has demanded resignations from several senior officials of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), threatening to terminate them if they do not comply, according to CBS, citing three informed sources.
It is reported that these personnel decisions were made during Senate confirmation hearings for Trump's nominee for the position of FBI director, Chris Wray. Wray assured senators that any action against FBI employees should only be taken based on factual and legal grounds.
He emphasized that he would not engage in illegal actions and would operate strictly within the confines of the law. Wray also promised that the FBI would not become a tool for politically motivated prosecutions and would not be used for repression.
