Azerbaijan's Actions Are Concerning: Grigoryan
Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan considers the statements coming from Azerbaijan to be alarming. "We see that they are conducting intensive military exercises, as well as intensive flights from other countries, which most likely involve the transfer of military equipment to Baku. However, we have been working in various directions over the past few years to create as much stability as possible in the region," said Grigoryan.
He cited the presence of the EU observation mission in Armenia and expressed hope that Brussels will make a decision on extending the mission's mandate.
Grigoryan also emphasized, from a stability perspective, the importance of Armenia joining the Rome Statute and the military reforms taking place in the country. "These are factors contributing to stability, and we consider all of these together," he stated, mentioning that they are reviewing the issue within the framework of the assessment of the Foreign Intelligence report published today.
In response to the British government's warning urging its citizens to avoid traveling through certain border areas in Armenia, Armen Grigoryan suggested addressing the matter directly to the British Embassy to clarify what they meant. "I cannot comment on the press statements of other countries; it would be better to inquire with them," he said.
