Arayik Harutyunyan Takes on New Role
Arayik Harutyunyan, the head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia, has been elected as the president of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation. He will serve a term of four years. No other candidates were nominated for the position.
It is noteworthy that the Armenian Weightlifting Federation was led by Hrachya Rostomyan since 2016, who recently announced his resignation.
The 46-year-old Harutyunyan served as the Minister of Education and Science of Armenia from 2018 to 2019, and then as the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports from 2019 to 2020. On November 24, 2020, he was appointed chief advisor to the Prime Minister and later became the Head of the Prime Minister's Office on July 1, 2021.
