Georgian President Grants First Pardons to Prisoners After Inauguration

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili has granted pardons to prisoners for the first time since his inauguration, totaling 613 individuals, as stated on his social media pages. According to РИА Новости, the announcement highlighted that the pardons coincide with the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

The declaration notes that “the pardoned individuals have been given the opportunity to return to their families and once again become full members of society.”
