Washington and London Interested in Keeping the EU Dependent on US Liquefied Natural Gas, Nebenzya
"The Turkish Stream" has come under attack based on information received from the US and the UK. This was stated by Vasily Nebenzya, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN. During a Security Council meeting regarding Ukraine, he mentioned that Kyiv is trying to prove that it can still fight, even if it lowers the conscription age to 18.
The diplomat emphasized that we should not forget that "it is these countries that are obstructing the start of an objective international investigation into the terrorist attack on the 'Nord Stream' that occurred in September 2022." Nebenzya also recalled Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's refusal to extend the gas transit agreement through Ukraine to Europe, concluding that Washington and London are interested in ensuring that "the EU remains tied to the expensive liquefied natural gas from the US."
The head of the Russian permanent mission added that Ukrainians are increasingly demonstrating their willingness to fight for Western geopolitical interests, while more than half a million people are wanted in Ukraine for evading mobilization.
