I Hope the President Will Not Criticize Me Too Much: Lavrov
Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a phone conversation with Russia's President Vladimir Putin and reportedly did not say anything new, specifically not even a word regarding the radical causes of the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by Sergey Lavrov, the head of Russia's foreign policy department, during a press conference summarizing 2024.
“I hope the president will not criticize me too much. I am not revealing a secret: during the conversation with Putin, Scholz said nothing that he has not publicly stated every other day. Not a word about the main causes of the conflict in Ukraine, not a word about the rights of the Russian language and Russians that Vladimir Zelensky wants to take away,” he said.
