Armenian Businessmen in Russia Concerned About Possible Withdrawal from EAEU: Karapetyan
Armenian businessmen in Russia are deeply concerned about discussions regarding the possible withdrawal of Armenia from the EAEU. This was stated by Samvel Karapetyan, the president of the Tashir Group of Companies.
“The introduction of tariffs could complicate exports to EAEU countries, including Russia, thereby reducing the competitiveness of goods. This will also impact the investment environment, as Russia is a key investor in Armenia. Citizens of Armenia working in EAEU countries benefit from preferential conditions, and leaving the union could complicate the labor situation in Russia, which may lead to a decrease in remittances to Armenia,” he noted.
“Membership in the EAEU provides more favorable conditions for the supply of energy resources from Russia, which is extremely important for the economy. Despite the 'attractiveness' of the European Union, participation in the EAEU not only contributes to economic growth but also ensures a crucial level of security, which is important in the current uncertain international situation,” he added.
