Gold Market Traders Send Letter to Pashinyan

Gold market traders, who were protesting in front of the government building, have concluded their demonstration. Prior to that, they were received at the government and were asked to write a formal request detailing their proposals.

The participants of the protest have sent a letter addressed to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, requesting a meeting with the Prime Minister and the heads of competent authorities. In conversations with journalists, they expressed uncertainty about whether they would continue working during this period, stating that each individual would determine their own course of action.

It is noteworthy that today, on January 13, the workers of the gold market organized a protest. They are voicing grievances over the increase in the circulation tax that is payable by them from 5 percent to 10 percent since January 1. Although the tax can be reduced from 1.5 percent to 1 percent if documentation is provided, they deem it impossible to operate with documentation due to the specifics of the industry.
