Our Position is Consistent and Very Clear: Peskov
The position of Russia regarding the resolution of the Ukraine conflict is well-known and maintained, having been presented multiple times by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President.
“Russia's negotiating position is well known to everyone. As for the conflict around Ukraine, our position is consistent, very clear, and it has been presented multiple times by the president, being well understood by all, taking into account the realities that exist in the country,” Peskov stated.
Peskov reminded that Putin detailed this in June 2024 during a speech before the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At that time, the Russian leader outlined four conditions, which included the withdrawal of Ukrainian armed forces from Donbas and Novorossiya, as well as Kyiv's rejection of NATO membership.
According to the state leader, Russia considers Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned status without nuclear weapons and the lifting of all Western sanctions to be necessary.
