Borders Should Not Change by Force: Scholz on Trump’s Statements
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has strongly criticized the recent statements made by newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Greenland. In his speech, Scholz emphasized the inviolability of borders as a fundamental principle of international law that applies equally to all countries. He clarified that this principle operates globally.
“This principle pertains to all nations, regardless of their size and power. It is a core component of Western values,” said the Chancellor.
Addressing the tense security situation in Europe, Scholz added, “NATO is a crucial element of our defense and the central pillar of transatlantic relations.”
