Avinyan Announces New Timeline for Ajapnyak Metro Station Construction
The construction of the Ajapnyak metro station in Yerevan will begin in 2026. This was announced by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan during a year-end summary press conference.
It should be noted that in March 2024, during a working consultation at the Yerevan City Hall, Mayor Avinyan had stated that the construction of the station would start in 2024.
“Currently, we have completed a preliminary examination of the project, and we are in the comprehensive examination phase. Negotiations with the Eurasian Foundation are in a practical stage. Next year, we plan to have the results of the comprehensive examinations, a complete technical-economic study, and positive conclusions from the government’s investment committee in the first quarter, and by the end of the year, we expect to have a contractor ready to begin work. We will start construction in 2026,” Avinyan noted.
He emphasized that there has been no experience of conducting examinations for similar projects in the last several decades.
