We Must Preserve Historical Truth: Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at the informal summit of the CIS in Saint Petersburg that Russia expects military personnel from CIS member states to participate in the Victory Parade scheduled for May 9, 2025, in Moscow.
He reminded that 2025 has been declared the Year of Peace and Unity Against Nazism in the CIS, emphasizing the importance of striving to preserve historical memory in the future as well.
“In honoring the veterans and the workers on the home front who defended our freedom and independence, we must strive to preserve the historical truth about the events of those years and remember the price that was paid for the liberation of the world from Nazism, advancing the perception of the victory achieved in 1945 as a common value for all humanity,” Putin emphasized.
