Kostanyan on Aliyev's Controversial Statement
Now I reiterate my statement that there is no point about the return of 300,000 Azerbaijanis in the Peace Agreement. This was stated by Vahan Kostanyan, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, in an interview with Factinfo.
Kostanyan refused to provide any further comments, indicating that only the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can give an official statement.
Whether separate negotiations have taken place regarding the return of 300,000 Azerbaijanis has not yet been commented on by official Yerevan. The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry did not respond to the question and confirm whether such applications exist, when they were received, or in what format.
Attempts to obtain a comment on the issue from Nikol Pashinyan's press spokesperson were also unsuccessful. Nazeli Baghdasaryan suggested submitting a written inquiry.
It is noteworthy that the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, stated that around 300,000 Azerbaijanis have officially approached the Armenian leadership to create conditions for their return and reintegration.
