Azerbaijan's President Aliyev: Armenia Must Fulfill Two Points for Peace Treaty Signing
Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, in an interview with VGTTRK and RIA Novosti, stated that Armenia must fulfill two points for the signing of a peace treaty. He noted, 'The dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group and amendments to the Armenian constitution will eliminate obstacles to the signing of the peace treaty.'
Aliyev also mentioned that 15 out of the 17 articles of the peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan have already been agreed upon. He believes that 'Armenia is undergoing an arms buildup process at a remarkable pace.'
'Armenia cannot withstand the arms race with Azerbaijan. Moreover, Yerevan must understand that the United States and France will not assist them,' Aliyev stated. He also declared that Baku has been compelled to adopt a record military budget of $5 billion due to the West's supply of weapons to Armenia. 'The weapons that Macron's government supplies to Armenia are offensive lethal arms,' he added.
