Around 300,000 Azerbaijanis Have Applied to Armenian Authorities for Return, Aliyev Says
Around 300,000 Azerbaijanis have officially appealed to the authorities of Armenia to create conditions for their return and reintegration. This was announced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
He mentioned that this pertains to Azerbaijanis who left Armenia in the 1980s and 1990s. "They have the right to return. We have not yet received a response from the Armenian leadership regarding how they envision the process of Azerbaijanis returning to their 'historical lands'," he stated.
It is worth noting that when Aliyev refers to 'Azerbaijanis' historical lands', he means the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.
