The U.S. Has No Connection to Kirilov's Murder
An anonymous senior U.S. official, quoted by France-Presse, claims that the United States was unaware of and did not support the assassination of General-Lieutenant Igor Kirilov, head of the Russian Armed Forces' Chemical Defense Troops, in Moscow.
"The U.S. was not aware of the operation in advance, and we do not support such actions," the anonymous official told the agency.
According to the Russian Investigative Committee, an explosive device was placed in a scooter parked near the entrance of a building on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow on the morning of December 17. General-Lieutenant Igor Kirilov and his assistant were killed in the blast.
