Russia Negotiates with Syria's New Authorities: Media
Russia is negotiating with the new authorities in Syria regarding the preservation of its two military bases in the country, according to a source from TASS.
It is noted that earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the developments in Syria have also taken Russia by surprise. "What has happened has likely surprised the entire world, and we are no exception in this case," said the Kremlin spokesperson.
According to Peskov, President Putin will continue to hold consultations with the leaders of Turkey and Iran regarding the situation in Syria.
