Obtaining a US Visa is Not Easy for Armenian Citizens: What Percentage Face Rejection
The US Department of State has identified the countries whose citizens find it most difficult to obtain a US tourist visa. According to data published on the US State Department website for 2024, statistics show that Uzbekistan leads among the CIS countries with the highest rejection rate for B-category visa applications, with nearly 65% of requests denied. Following Uzbekistan is Armenia, with a rejection rate of 59.4%, and Turkmenistan at 58.8%.
In contrast, among post-Soviet countries that are EU members, the situation is different. Lithuania has a rejection rate of 21%, Estonia at 9%, and Latvia at only 7%.
Globally, Somali citizens face the highest rejection rates, with 77% of visa applications denied. The easiest path to obtaining a US tourist visa is for citizens of the UAE, Cyprus, and Romania, where the rejection rate does not exceed 2.6%.
