Europe Responds to Netanyahu and Gallant Arrest Warrant
The representative of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that France's response to the arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be in accordance with the regulations of the International Criminal Court (ICC). This was reported by Reuters.
The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for 'crimes against humanity and war crimes'. The court announced that it has unanimously rejected Israel's appeal regarding the jurisdiction of the ICC.
The ICC added that there are 'reasonable grounds' to believe that Netanyahu and Gallant bear 'criminal responsibility for the use of enforced starvation as a method of warfare, a war crime'. The court also noted that there are reasonable grounds to suggest that Netanyahu and Gallant have 'deliberately and knowingly deprived' the citizens of Gaza of food, water, medicine, medical supplies, fuel, and electricity.
Earlier, the Netherlands stated that they are prepared to implement the ICC's arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if necessary.
