How the US Will Respond to Changes in Russia's Nuclear Doctrine
Washington does not intend to respond to changes in Russia's nuclear doctrine. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing a representative of the US National Security Council.
The official stated that "Moscow announced the changes a few weeks ago," so the decision was not a surprise for the White House. "The United States sees no need to adjust its own nuclear doctrine in response," he said.
Bloomberg believes that Washington's reaction is "balanced" and may have a calming effect on global markets. Earlier, the agency reported that global markets had experienced a "shock" following the news of the update to Russia's nuclear doctrine.
