Azerbaijani Ambassador Threatens to Kill Armenian Ambassador to EU, Politico Reports
The Armenian Embassy has lodged an official complaint with other diplomatic representatives in Brussels after the ambassador reported receiving death threats from his Azerbaijani counterpart. This was reported by POLITICO.
It is believed that Armenian Ambassador Tigran Balayan was subjected to "verbal assaults and intimidation" from Azerbaijani Ambassador Vagif Sadikov, who allegedly made "open threats against his life." Reports indicate that the incident occurred during a reception at Brussels' Tangla Hotel, organized by the Turkish embassy in honor of the country's national holiday.
This is thought to be the first event organized by Ankara that the Armenian embassy has been invited to since the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Armenia's close ally, in 2020.
At the same time, in an interview with POLITICO, Sadikov denied that such an incident took place.
